The NYS Department of Health recognizes the need for increased training and support for users of the CANS-NY in the HHSC program. The CANS-NY Training & Technical Assistance Institute is increasing regional support for use of the CANS-NY in health home care management through targeted trainings and locally based coaches with in-depth CANS-NY expertise. The topics for these targeted trainings and the coaches’ activities will be driven by the results of the second statewide Learning Needs Assessment survey, conducted between May 1, 2019 and May 22, 2019.
The link to complete the Learning Needs Assessment survey was sent directly to care mangers, supervisors, and other CANS-NY users affiliated with the HHSC program on May 1st and they are invited to complete the short survey by May 22nd.
The responses to this survey will help the Institute develop training and support resources that can better support care managers in their use of the tool to care for NY children and families. Examples of resources developed based on last year’s information include tip sheets and targeted trainings.
If you have any questions about the survey or the Institute, feel free to leave a comment here or reach out directly to the coaches in your region. Any and all feedback will help the Institute provide meaningful and relevant support to you!
